Attribute columns

View the attribute data of queried items

To view the data stored within the resulting items of a query tab, you need to select the attributes you want to see. This can include:

  • Root attributes - on the queried design/interface.

  • Join attributes - on connected designs/interfaces, which can be navigated to from the queried design/interface via Link attributes.

  • Standard paths - shortcuts to specific join attributes.

The attributes you select will appear as columns in the query's table. For each item in the results, the columns will display any values the item has for those attributes.

Note

Admins can define standard paths on designs/interfaces using the Designer app.

Configure attributes

To configure the attribute columns of the active query tab:

  1. Select Configure attributes in the top-right corner to list the available attributes for the queried design/interface.

  2. Select one or more attributes to include them in the query. Deselect attributes that you want to hide. Scroll the list or use the search box to find the ones you want.

  3. To include a join attribute that isn't listed, select in the popover to open the Pathfinder. Use it to navigate to another design/interface that is a parent or child of the one being queried, by "hopping" through one or more Link attributes. Select Done to finish.

    Example

In the following screenshot, a path has been navigated from the queried Street Lights design to the child Bracket Types design, by following two Link attributes named Brackets and then Bracket Type.

The Projection (m) attribute on the Bracket Types design has then been selected for inclusion in the query.

  4. Select Save in the popover to finish.

Note

If the query is being filtered by any attributes you've deselected, Alloy will give you the option to clear their filters.

Reorder attribute columns

Reorder attributes by dragging their column header to another position. This ordering is remembered if the query is saved!

View attribute data

Most attribute columns display their item values directly. If a long value is truncated, hover over it to see the full value in a tooltip. Scroll horizontally to see more attribute columns and scroll vertically to see more item rows (if more are available).

In some attribute columns, you can select an item's value to get more information.

Geometry

If a Geometry attribute column contains a value, it will display the type of geometry stored. To preview the item's geometry on the map, select its button.

Linked items

If a Link attribute column contains a single value for an item, the cell will display the linked item's icon and title. Select the linked item to view its details on the right.

Selecting a Link attribute cell containing a single value

If a cell contains multiple values, it will display an X results button. Select this to display the linked items in a separate popover. You can then select a linked item to view its details or select in the popover to open the linked items in a new query tab.

To save your configured query for future reuse, select Save in the bottom toolbar.
