Why use Alloy?

What do people use Alloy for?

To manage the physical assets in the world around us.

Previously, this required using multiple separate systems to hold different types of information for different types of asset (even if those assets were managed in largely the same way).

Alloy provides a completely flexible data structure for asset management, enabling you to manage all asset types within a single system!

Our unique model of designs and interfaces lets you define your own asset classes, which can inherit attributes from shared classes. This makes it possible to group asset types in various scenarios, while still keeping them distinct from each other.

Inventory

Alloy is an excellent tool for maintaining an asset inventory. It can store all kinds of information about each asset, including physical (e.g. dimensions, location, condition) and abstract (e.g. unit number, installed date, owner) characteristics.

Assets can be placed in different collections, allowing you to distinguish between those that are in live service, in storage, or are retired.

Activities

To extend the lifespan of your assets and ensure they perform optimally, a mixture of scheduled and reactive maintenance is essential.

Alloy can help you to plan, perform and record activities for inspecting an asset's condition, reporting defects and performing work.

Automate and Connect

We know that our customers are unique, each with a different way of working to meet their goals. This might be through specific defined processes, or by harnessing the power of a connected world through multiple systems that need to work seamlessly with one another.

Workflows

Alloy's powerful workflow engine offers almost unlimited possibilities for automating your business processes. Workflows can be triggered manually or automatically, and can use branching logic to perform different actions under different conditions.

Create and allocate tasks, flag high-risk defects, send email/SMS notifications and so much more!

Open API

Our API-first approach means you can connect Alloy to almost anything online. Several modules are available that provide integrations to various sensor types, IoT platforms, CRMs, third-party services and more.

We welcome and support customers in creating their own integrations! Consult our Developer Docs for information about how the API works.

What else can Alloy be used for?

Today, people are using Alloy to manage assets across a wide range of service areas, including Highways, Street Lighting, Drainage, Waste Management, Grounds and Street Cleaning.

Thanks to the flexibility of the data model, there's no limit to the things you can maintain with Alloy, and new applications are being identified all the time.
