Standard defect details
What are the standard defect details?
The Defects module includes a standard defects design that provides you with a set of standard details that you can use as part of a process to create and manage defects associated with assets.
The following two defect details are mandatory for all defects.
Defect number - When you create a new defect Alloy automatically assigns a defect number. The defect number is mandatory and unique and does not actually appear as a field that you can edit. The defect number attribute can be inserted into the title field for each defect, when it is created.
Status - The status field allows you to select from a list of statuses defined within the system.
The following defect details are optional, however, they may be configured as being mandatory prior to the installation of the system.
Reported date - This allows you to record the date and time that a defect is reported.
Remedied date - This allows you to record the date and time that a defect is remedied
Description - This allows you to enter a detailed description of the defect.
Related defects - This allows you to select one or more existing defects that are related to the defect that you are creating.
- Attachments - This allows you to attach one or more document files related to the defect you are creating.
- Raised jobs - This allows you to select any existing jobs that have been raised and are associated with the defect you are creating.
- Defect inspections - This allows you to select any existing inspections that have been raised and are associated with the defect you are creating.
