When you have a new lookup type that is going to be used within your project you can create a new design for it.

The basic Alloy lookup design includes the following set of interfaces that allow you to create lookup items.

Creating a lookup design

To create a lookup design use the following procedure:


Depending on your permission settings, you may not be able to create designs. Contact your administrator for assistance.

  1. Go to the Designer module and select Create design.
  2. Select the Lookup type from the list of design types.

  1. Complete the design form, see Creating designs.
  2. Confirm settings in the left panel and select Create.

    The completed design is displayed in the right panel. A basic custom lookup design has no system attributes associated with it.

  3. You should now customise the design by adding attributes to the design, which can then be used to create lookup items.
