How to manage interfaces
Overview
When you create a custom design it includes one or more interfaces, depending on the type of design that was selected. Once you have created the design, in addition to adding attributes, you can customize the design by adding interfaces to the design. Adding interfaces is another way of adding attributes and also adding links to the design to provide additional functionality to the design.
In the example illustrated below, adding the assetHead interface links the design with Defects, Tasks and Network references and the design inherits the attributes from the associated interfaces.
Adding an interface to a design
To add an interface to a design use the following procedure:

Select a design to view its details.

In the Item details panel, use the tab bar to select the Interfaces page.

Select the more actions button from the action bar.

Select the Add interface button, a dialog is displayed that allows you to select an interface.
- Select an interface you require, the system validates the selection. Not all interfaces are valid selections.
- The interface is added to the list of interfaces, any linked interfaces are also listed.
Removing an added interface
Interfaces that you added to a design can be removed from the list, as follows:

Select a design to view its details.

In the Item details panel, use the tab bar to select the Interfaces page.

Select the button on the action bar. This allows you to remove the interfaces from the list by selecting the alongside the interface.
- Select Save when you have completed your selections.
You may not be able to remove an interface from a design once you have added items to the design and populated any interface attributes.
