Overview

You can assign a job to an existing project or create a new project. In addition you can assign the job to a team and team member.

Assigning a job

When you create a job, Alloy allows you to assign the job to a project and / or team.

Select step (Assign job), the project and team assignment page is displayed.

The top half of the page allows you to assign the job to a project. The lower half of the page allows you to assign the job to a team and / or team member.

Assigning the job to a project

By default there is no project associated with the job you have created. To assign the job use the following procedure:

  1. Select the Choose an option field, a dialog appears allowing you to select one of the following options:
  • Existing project - When you select the existing project option the Project selection field is added to the page that allows you to select an existing project.

  • New project - When you select the new project option the Design field is displayed. This allows you to select a project design.

After you have selected a design for the new project option a Name field is displayed. Enter a name for the new project.

  1. When you have completed assigning the job to a project you can complete the assigning process by selecting Done.

Assigning the job to a team

By default there is no team associated with the job you have created. To assign the job use the following procedure:

  1. Select the Teams field to assign the job to a team, a dialog appears allowing you to select an existing team within the system.
  2. Select the Team member field to assign the job to an individual member within a team, a dialog appears allowing you to select an existing team member.
  3. When you have completed assigning the job to a team and team member you can complete the assigning process by selecting Done.

When you have completed assigning the job to a project and / or a team the fifth step of the process indicates that it is complete.

Reassigning a job to another project

You can reassign existing jobs from one project to another.

  1. Select an existing job to view its details.
  2. In the Item details panel, the General page is displayed by default.
  3. Select the more actions button from the action bar.

  1. Select Reassign project, a projects dialog is displayed that allows you to select a different project.

  1. When you have completed reassigning the job you are returned to the Item details page.

Reassigning a job to another team and team member

You can also reassign a Team within the Item details panel.

  1. Select a job to view its details.
  2. In the Item details panel, the General page is displayed by default.
  3. Select the button on the action bar.
  4. Select Reassign team, a team dialog is displayed that allows you to select a different team or none at all.

  1. When you completed reassigning the job you are returned to the Item details panel.

You can also allocate work to a team within a project.
