System groups have predefined permissions that you cannot change. You can view the permissions to understand which workflows are accessible to system group users. Users can be added to the relevant system groups to have access to workflows.
Defining permissions for custom groups allows you to manage the workflows that users view and interact with. By default new groups have no access to any workflows. The system administrator needs to define the minimum access requirements when a group is created.
Defining group permissions for workflows
The following process applies to custom groups. When you select the Workflows category all the workflows are listed in the Object column. Select an object to see its permissions.
You can change the permissions to allow the group and its users, access to the workflows that they require. When you have changed the permissions select the Save button.
