Overview

In order to create a schedule you should prepare a task or project to which the schedule will be applied.

Creating a schedule

There are three key steps to creating a schedule:

Selecting an asset

The process of creating a schedule can be done one of two ways:

  • Selecting an asset directly
  • Using the Activities module.
Selecting an asset directly
  1. Select an asset (e.g. a street light) associated with the schedule to view its details in the Item details panel.
  2. Select the more actions button from the action bar.

  1. Select Create schedule. The Create Schedule page appears on the left hand side.

  1. The first step of the process indicates that it is complete for this item.

    The remaining steps are described below.

Selecting an activity

  1. Go to the Activities module.
  2. In left panel, select Create schedule. The Create Schedule page is displayed in the left panel.

  1. Select step , the Activity type page is displayed. This allows you to select either a project or task to associate with the schedule.

  1. When you select either activity type the Select activity page is displayed.

  1. This requires you to complete the following fields:

    • Design - when you select this field a dialog appears allowing you to select the appropriate design (Project or Task).
    • Collection - when you select this field a dialog appears allowing you to select a collection.
    • Item - when you select this field a dialog appears allowing you to to select either a specific project or task that you want to schedule. The list of items displayed is also filtered by the design you previously selected.
  1. Select Done to accept your selection and move onto to the next step.
  2. The first step of the process indicates that it is complete.

Selecting a schedule type

When you have completed the Activity type for the schedule you can define the schedule type.

Select step , the Schedule type page is displayed. This allows you to select one of three schedule types.

Creating a schedule with specific dates

The Calendar schedule type allows you to select one or more dates when the scheduled project or task will occur.

  1. Select the Calendar type. The Calendar schedule page is displayed.

  1. Select the Dates field to display the calendar, this allows you to select one or more dates to schedule the project or task, see Selecting calendar dates.

  2. Select Save when finished. When you have saved the selected date or dates the Dates field displays the date you selected or if you selected multiple dates, the number of selected dates.

  1. Select Done to accept your selection and move onto to the next step.
  2. The second step of the process indicates that it is complete.

Creating a recurring schedule

The Repeat schedule type allows you to define a cyclic schedule or projects or tasks that repeat at set intervals.

  1. Select the Repeat type. The Cyclic schedule page is displayed.

  1. The following fields allows you to define the repeating schedule, see Configuring repeating settings:

    • At - this allows you to set a time when the schedule is triggered.
    • Of every - this allows you to choose between a weekly or monthly repeating period.
    • On - this allows you to choose days of the week or dates within a month.
  2. Select Save when you have completed each field. Your selections are displayed when you have finished.

  1. Select Done to accept your selection and move onto to the next step.
  2. The second step of the process indicates that it is complete.

The Frequency schedule type allows you to define a schedule that triggers events at regular intervals irrespective of date.

  1. Select the Frequency type. The Frequency schedule page is displayed.

  1. The following fields allows you to define the frequency of the schedule tasks schedule, see Configuring frequency settings:

    • Starting at - this allows you to set a time and date when the schedule is triggered.
    • Every - this allows you to specify the frequency of the schedule, which is also dependent on the Units field.
    • On - this allows you to select the frequency time units, for example, minutes, days, week, etc.
  2. Select Save when you have completed each field. Your selections are displayed when you have finished.

  1. Select Done to accept your selection and move onto to the next step.
  2. The second step of the process indicates that it is complete.

Entering schedule details

The final step in creating a schedule is to assign a name to the schedule.

  1. Select step , the Schedule details page is displayed.

  1. Enter a name for the schedule that you have created
  2. Select Done to accept your entry and move onto to the next step.
  3. The third step of the process indicates that it is complete.

  1. Select Create to complete the schedule. The new schedule is displayed in the item details panel on the right hand side.
