Creating component designs

Create a basic design for your new component type​

Overview​

When you want to create component items you need to base the items on a component design.

The basic Alloy component design includes the following set of interfaces that allow you to create components.

Creating a component design​

To create a component design use the following procedure:

  1. Go to the Designer module and select Create design.

  2. Select the Component type from the list of design types.

  1. Complete the design form, see Creating designs.

  2. Confirm settings in the left panel and select Create.

    The completed design is displayed in the right panel. A basic component design has the following attributes associated with it.

  1. You should now customise the design by adding attributes to the design, which can then be used to create component items.
Note

Depending on your permission settings, you may not be able to create designs. Contact your administrator for assistance.
