Creating component designs

Create a basic design for your new component type​

Overview​

When you want to create component items you need to base the items on a component design.

The basic component design includes the following set of interfaces that allow you to create components.

Creating a component design​

To create a component design use the following procedure:

  1. Go to the Designer module and select Create design.

  2. Select the Component type from the list of design types.

  3. In the dashboard panel, complete the design form, see Creating designs.

  4. Select Create. Your new design is displayed in the right panel. A basic component design has the following attributes associated with it. Customise the design by adding attributes.

Depending on your permission settings, you may not be able to create designs. Contact your administrator for assistance.
