Creating network designs

Create a design for your new network​

Overview​

In order to create a network you need to create a network design that can then be applied to a network.

The basic Alloy component design includes the following set of interfaces that allow you to create components.

Creating a network design​

To create a network design use the following procedure:

  1. Go to the Designer module and select Create design.

  2. Select the Network type from the list of design types.

  1. Complete the design form, see Creating designs.

  2. Confirm settings in the left panel and select Create.

    The completed design is displayed in the right panel. A basic network design includes a set of default link attributes. You cannot edit these links as they are required by the system.

  1. You can now customise the design by adding attributes to the design, which can then be used to create network items.
Note

Depending on your permission settings, you may not be able to create designs. Contact your administrator for assistance.
