Deleting designs or interfaces

How to delete a design/interface

If a custom design/interface is no longer needed, you can delete it from your Alloy database.

However, this will only be possible if nothing else in your database depends on it (otherwise Alloy will warn you to address that first).

Design dependencies

Before you delete a design, ensure that:

  • all existing items of that design have been deleted

  • any Link attributes referencing that design have been deleted from other designs/interfaces

Interface dependencies

Before you delete an interface, ensure that:

  • the values of any attributes inherited from that interface are cleared from all existing items

  • the interface is removed from all designs

  • any Link attributes referencing that interface have been deleted from other designs/interfaces

Note

It isn't possible to delete the system designs/interfaces provided with Alloy.

Deleting a design/interface

To delete a custom design/interface:

  1. Select the design/interface to view its details in the right panel.

  2. If necessary, use the tab bar to show the General page.

  3. Select in the action bar and then answer Yes to the confirmation.

Alloy will confirm whether the deletion succeeded or failed.
