Gateway
Import data into Alloy
Use Gateway to import existing data into your Alloy customer project.
Whether the data is in an industry standard format or entirely custom, Gateway helps you to recreate the data's structure in Alloy and map incoming values to the correct destinations. All imports get validated before being committed, so you can correct any configuration issues before finalising the import.
Before following any import procedure, make sure the files you want to import data from are uploaded to Alloy.
If you're unable to view or manage imports, your user account may lack the required permissions.
Supported formats
NSG and NLPG
The National Street Gazetteer (NSG) and National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) are central repositories for cataloguing all streets and premises within England and Wales. This data can be imported into Alloy as a network, which provides a visual representation of the data.
To learn more, see Importing NSG and NLPG files.
Shapefile
Shapefile is a popular format for storing geographic locations. It can describe points, lines and polygons in geographic space, which can represent things like assets, boundaries and areas. This data can be imported into Alloy and used to generate items of a particular design.
To learn more, see Importing shapefiles.
CSV
Custom data can be stored as comma-separated values (CSV). Providing it's formatted correctly, it can be imported into Alloy and used to generate items of a particular design. This provides an effective way to input large amounts of data in one go.
