Layer tags
Use tags to categorise layers
Overview
A tag is a keyword or phrase that typically describes a category or shared characteristic, e.g. Lighting assets, Highways Department, Zone D.
By creating a tag and assigning it to multiple layers, you can define a relationship between them. A layer can have multiple tags, so it's possible to create many overlapping relationships without conflict.
This provides a way to quickly and easily filter the Layers panel when you want to focus on certain layers. Simply select the relevant tag(s) and the list will only show the layers you're interested in!
Assigning tags to a layer
To assign one or more tags to a layer:
-
Select Layers in the right panel menu to open the Layers panel.
-
Select the desired layer to view its styles list.
- Use the tab bar to select the General page.
- Select Edit in the action bar and then select the Tags field to show the Task Manager.
- Select one or more existing tags, or add a custom tag, and then select Save to finish.
