How to use the Add link action operator
Overview
The Add link operator allows you to add items that can be linked to the input item through a specified link attribute. In the example illustrated below the output of the workflow event is a Project that has two jobs (Job 1 and Job 2) linked to it. This is the input to the Add link node, which has been configured to add two more jobs (Job 3 and Job 4) using the link attribute (attribute_projectTasks
), the subsequent output from the Add link node is the Project with four jobs linked to it.
Input
One or more items based on a specific design or design interface, see Action inputs and outputs.
Output
The input items with the selected link items added.
Configuring an add link node
To configure an add link node:
- Add an action and navigate to the Actions tab of the Create action page.
- Select the Add link option. The General page is displayed in the item details page, there are two options associated with this node.
- Select the Attribute field to display a dialog of the link attributes associated with the input item.
- You can select one link attribute from the input item.
- Select the Links field to display a dialog of the available link items.
- This allows you to select one or more link items that will be added to the item, see Workflow link attributes.
- Select Save when you have completed the selection. This returns you to the item details page.
- To complete this node, select Save. This returns you to the workflow editor.
